Yes I will be careful don't worry. If I make a schematic I'll let check
it at least three times; by the list, by some ppl I know here in Holland
and you because of your concern ;^) OK? It'll be a long time before I
get my hands on a vs anyway.
Basically it shouldn't be so hard. The wheels and the joystick are just
fancy pots controlling analog circuitry (that is if the modulation
destinations are analog!) You just have to bypass the dac and adc
nothing more unless the cpu is ordered to t change the scale of the
voltage e.g. if the filter likes voltages from 0 -5V and the wheel gives
only 0 - 2V than it should mutliplied by the cpu. (but I don't think it
could/should handle it in those days)
I'd like to know what the mod wheel and joystick (sources) can modulate
(destinations) in real time and which of those destinations are analog
circuitry.
And another thing, are the pitchwheel and aftertouch/pressure
translating to 14 bits? I would really like to know more about
mechanical devices used for the synthesizers interface which can
properly be scanned or can handle themselves 14 bits of resolution, any
literature recommendations about this subject would also be appriciated!
Thanks!
