cleaning button Contacts?

I think I remember a discussion of this earlier, but could someone tell me
the recommended procedure for cleaning these rubber contact keypads?

I dont know the real name for them. It's like a rubber sheet over a PCB with
dimples on it and little iron bits glued to the inside of the dimples. When
a dimple is pressed, the metal bit makes contact with a patch on the PCB...

I just bought a very used TR-707 and it looks like It recieved a beverage at
one point. Not real bad, but I still want to clean it up. I remember a long
time ago trying to clean this type of keypad on an old home computer and it
never worked again... hehe

Considering this is a x0x box, I dont want a repeat performance. :)
