The Dark force of dance

Y-ellow Y'all.
I think the problem is that we all think of the SID in DIY terms and not
in production terms. Certainly had I have produced a SID synth and gone to
all the trouble to produce front panels and debugging software, I'd want a
bit of remuneration from it too.
But I have other ideas for a SID chip or 8. And the SIDstation isn't it.
In fact the synth to which I previously referred was not the SIDstation at
all. From memory it was called something like "Blub II" and was on a PC
plug-in card. It supported 8 SIDs as a PC sound card and had PCI
soundcard/MIDI software running on the host. I think there might be a link
to this from the SID homepage but I've not been back there to check it
out. All this would have been simple if BOSH95 would stop eating all my
bookmarks.
However, even this is not quite what I had in mind personally. The SID is a
unique sound and actually offers more options than many of our much revered
analogue synths. Which makes it a very interesting proposition. Whether
you're thinking of messing with the chips themselves or buying a 500 clam
SIDstation. And that audio input seems mighty inviting. :)
Hope this helps.
Be absolutely Icebox.
