fatman midi interface

Ive been toying with using the fatman up and code to hack into a synth im 
planning to build.... One problem the fatman is v/hz, how would i go moding 
a v/oct vco to run with this deal?? Is it as easy as removing the exp 
convertor from the vco or should i through this in the too hard basket!
