signaltranformer.com makes some transformers designed for exactly this
application... their web site will have schematics and recommended parts
lists... Also PAiA and (i think) John Blacet of this list offer kits if the
schematics aren't enough info for you.
No flames anyone, the 7815 and 7915 are more than adequate for this use....
