The uA726 and SSM are very specialistic chips, the 741 is a terribl(y)(e)
common one. I guess only us, a group of a few hundred people, would
be interested in a few 726's, the rest of the world has moved on to
digital solutions probably :-) Even when it was still in production
the 726 was a specialty item, and expensive!

Apparently transistor arrays are used in lots of other applications than
electronic music, and as long as analog circuitry is being designed
and manufactured I'm sure they will be available. And as long as min.
4-transistor arrays are manufactured we can build temperature compensated
exp-converters "easily".

Oh, and we need OTA's! It's not easy to build VCA's and VCF's without OTA's.
The Moog filter is an OTA, in a way... I just noticed National Semi
has issued a "lifetime buy" status for the LM13600, the LM13700 still is in
full production. There aren't many OTA's really, are there? The only other
OTA I know is the CA3080...
