The Seq2 is almost finished. I still have to finish the pcb but the design is solid. It looks like
the pcb will be about 3X7. I was able to do a single sided so based on the drill so-far maybe
$14-16. I'll know for sure tomorrow.
The final design uses a pair of 4011 inverters for the clock, a 4516 binary up/dn counter and a
pair of 4514 4-bit latches for the 1-16 sequencers.."sequencers" ? I use one 4514 for voltage and
another 4514 for pulse outputs. This allows for all kinds of options and actually works first time
everytime, unlike all of the other designs I tried. They each had something I hated! It usually had
something to do with deriving the pulse from the CV or a scheme that doesn't allow you to turn
notes off at all. Much less note, slide, gate.
It's just like a standard sequencer but different...:-)
16 Notes - selectable on/off - variable pitch
16 Gates - selectable on/off - variable pulse width - you can start a slide or gate
16 Slides - selectable on/off - variable pulse width - with the note on or off!
Selectable 303 style Slide or Trigger-out
2-16 Repetition counter w/carry out
Pulse Start / Pulse Stop
Pulse On Up-Down / Pulse Off Up-Down
Clock In/Out - Chainable....uhhhh that's 16X16 for 256 notes..:-)
I'm still grinning from yesterday. It does that 303 thing really well. Makes a good LFO
weird-waveform generator and you can use the pulse outs to drive analog drum oscillators. Add a
select switch and another row or two of pots and have a 3X16 add summing and use one row for pitch
and the others for velocity or mod etc... The gate and slide pulse-width converters work by
applying voltage to one of the gates. I haven't tried this yet but I think we can do vc-gate and
slide width!! We'll save that for a mod.
Of course there are lots of things you could leave off too...
I am so happy to be almost done. Last week I was finishing the pcb-layout and my wife said "I've
seen you get this far before...just before you scrap the whole thing and start over". I want to
know why our women curse us this way. She does it all the time and yes I did scrap the dam thing
and start over!

cleared up.)
