1/f noise (was: RE: super cables)

Well, this 1/f stuff seems still to be a mystery, there is no final
theoretical answer to it yet (at least in the texts I visited).
It seems to me that we call this "parameter variation" at the end,
some manufacturers have very slow and long oscilloscope screenshots in
their data sheet, to show their low noise process. The carbon resistor
example shows that it has something to do with variations in the material.
In the case of offset voltage this is sometimes speced over hours,
or months.
