I guess this is where the analogy breaks down. It works fairly well for DC
charge storage but not AC transmission. Electrons in a conductor are
compressible, water in a pipe isn't. The elasticity is coming from the
membrane, rather than the water. In this respect electrons behave more like
a gas.
I'm too tired to think about it right now.
