I found this today and it might be of some interest...
Spice Opus is a port of Brekley Spice3f4 that includes a set of
optimization routines that find values of components that satisfy
specified conditions. Included on the web-page is an example that
optimizes the resistors in a tri-to-sine converter so that the purest
possible sine wave is produced. Also, there are a lot of examples that
involve filters and signal generators. Software is available for download
for Win9x/NT and Linux. I have not used it myself, yet... ;)
