Rbe test circuit?

Hi Listers,

The subject says it all: does anyone have an idea on how to measure 
the Rbe of a transistor? I'd like to check the values for some of these 
japanese devices whose names keep popping up lately.
My idea is to measure the gain in a grounded emitter amplifier, but I think
this would be difficult because of the biasing network, and the high
distortion.
Or measuring Vbe with variing collector current?
Any better ideas?
