606 fun

I am procuring a TR-606 with a blown uP. I intend to bypass the digital
functions, install midi (MAP midigator), various mods, and rackmount it.
The midigator will be very cool to use, since each sound will also have a
gate associated with it, so I can run the sounds through additional
VCFs/VCAs to get a final product. Additionally, I assume the accent is
just a matter of bringing that particular pin from the uP high or low, so
I could link a gate to that for midi-controlled accent. I intend to do
some crazy breakbeats with accent and gated VCA's.

>From what I can gather from pictures, I can leave out the switch board but
I have to mount the whole main board since there's no way to mount just
the analog components.

So now I ask, has anybody done something like this? Any sage advice to
keep me from wasting my time? I took a look at the schematic, what's up
with the "common trigger" in addition to each voice having its own
trigger? (or is it gate? It's not labeled.. guess I won't know until I
get it in the mail)
