Japanese duals (was: Re: CA3046,SSM2210&2220 Replacements)

With all this talk about trannys, I recently bought some 2N3958 (dual 
n-channel) JFETs from Alltronics (www.alltronics.com) for about $1.99 each. I 
should note that Alltronics carries a lot of surplus, so it is possible that 
these aren't up to spec. I plan to use these with VCO and ARP (4027 ladder) 
filter circuits -- does anyone have any thoughts on this device in these 
applications? Is the price OK?
