HEHE!! There IS a BUNCH of noise on the line! :))
If you are using the alphadog mod, make sure you use a pull-up on the input
line to your divider and a decoupling cap directly (if possible) between the
power and gnd pins on the flip flop...  It might work decent to put a cap to
gnd from the input line too... A small value might help eliminate spurious
noise...

And, yes, you have to disconnect the internal clock first off, otherwise
youll have all sorts of strange sync...
