:::Actually this should be the same affect on you as listening to an 8 bit
:::sampler without modulation or effects.
:::
:::For me, the same is true for higher resolution - without modulations or
:::effects!
:::
:::I think the key is that a digital wavetable VCO needs to be manipulated in
:::real time to get the most out of it. Software synths do it - try one of
:::them with the output resolution turned down (if you can do that) - and let
:::us know the results.

Well, the quantization does not change much, but if the sample is longer a
more complex wave could be recorded, like the mentioned beating.
The longer the sample the more inharmonic stuff, the more interesting.
