Also, as just a comment, I realize that NetworkSolutions.com isn't the
fastest acting agency in this world ( I have several grisly horror stories
available ), BUT... they generally get a new registrant up and running on
the whois screen pretty quickly ( fresh blood... <grin> )
Just did a whois and got:
No match for "SYNTH-DIY.ORG".
You agree that you will not reproduce, sell, transfer, or
modify any of the data presented in response to your search request, or
use of any such data for commercial purpose, without the prior
express written permission of Network Solutions.
I then went to the registry section and asked to register synth-diy.org and
got:
synth-diy.org is available.
These Web Addresses are also available!

synth-diy.com
synth-diy.net
I recently sold my old domain name ( greymatter.com ) and created a new one
( synthstuff.com ). When I filled out the form to register synthstuff.com,
out of a perverse curiosity, I tried to register it later that day and was
told that the domain was not available.
Proteus has claimed ownership of that synth-diy.xxx for more than a week but
I simply do not see any indication of this from the current world registrar
of internet names.
Maybe I should take it... <g>
