Well most of us don't need a VCO that runs that wide of a range. Ask
anyone with an Aries what tuning a 10 octave range on a single turn pot
is like. Anyway, my current rosin-flux soldered rat-shack PCB VCO
operates from 0.091 Hz to 400 kHz (even with the expo converter on a
separate board 6 inches away) which is quite adequate enough for me. I'm
quite sure I can get more range out of it if I run it at higher currents,
and utilize a larger cap AND if I used a properly designed PCB with a
copper pour shield around the integrator input pins and the expo-converter.
But like I mentioned before, I don't see any reason to have a VCO that
runs that wide, and especially for the novice, they shouldn't expect to
get that kind of performance, so I still attest that rosin-core is
perfectly safe and usable.

   Type "44" forever...

   Tony
