606 problems.

I don't think it is the uP.

1.) What did you modify?
2.) Do you have schematics?
3.) Are the supply-voltages all ok?
4.) Check the whole board for unwanted shortcuts by solder tin.
5.) Check whether all connectors are put in right position.

Long time ago I did a lot of modifications with 606s. And sometimes I did a  
shortcut somewhere. e.g. I putted single outputs, the device worked fine whne  
it all layed open, but put together the plugs made shortcuts with the  
standing resistors...
