Well, if you set up three single-pulse generators with the same time
and let them trigg each other I think you can get away with quite few
transistors. Ensure that you bootstrap one as "high" and two as "low".
The time-constant for each of them will set their time of the period
so that when you sum their time-constants up you get the total period
time.
This form of triggered single pulse generator should not be that
difficult to find, basically quite similar to the 2-transistor
astabile multivibrator.
