The JRC 4558 is supposedly the "secret ingredient" of the Ibanez TS-808
and TS-9 Tube Screamers. Other 4558 chips apparently don't sound nearly
as good in those circuits.
Sean Costello (who prefers the subtly world-rending sound of the Super
Fuzz to the wimply buzz of a Tube Screamer, although the TS-9 can sound
nice in front of an old Fender amp)
