Opinions: On op amp replacement

Since the topic has been brought up, I've been thinking for a long time about
changing out all the LM301s in the audio path of my ARP 2600 because they have
always sounded very noisy to me. I had always thought of using a TL071 or
possibly some OPxx part, with Jurgen's points being well taken of course. I'm
hoping someone would have some insight into this (Good, Bad or Ugly), though I
have no plans of doing this in the immediate future.

Any thoughts are appreciated!
