Well, got another update.
The studio 440 now will load disks fairly regularly without crashing
(YEAAA!)
Furthermore it now will make noise, which can't be bad. :)
BUT, I *hope* its just cuz i dont have the manual, but for the LIFE of
me I cant seem to figgure out how the sequencer worx...Can anyone write
me up a little instruction on how to record a loop and play it back?
Please?
Another thingy is: I am looking at perhaps one of the UART sections
components being bad, and in reading the schematics, I came upon what I
thought was a good idea..
It seems as though the cem5530 (giant chip thingy) can dynamically send
stuff like PAN, PITCH, and LEVEL to the cem3389.
Well, I got to thinking.. ;) Wouldnt it be neat to be able to control
RESONANCE instead of PAN? I mean, who uses PAN anymore? Since the studio
440 has 8 outs, do it from yer mixing board already!
Yes, PAN will now become REZ very shortly just by rerouting the pan pin
to the REZ pin on the CEM3389....Whats great about it is, the PAN
setting is set in memory in the patch..So, that means that whatever the
rez setting is at, it will save it! YEAH@! AND, you can record the
movements of the PAN pot too..Yummy..
OH, BTW, this thing makes every sample sound sooooo rich! I can see why
ppl love it so much.. Sonically, makes the akai seem so whimpy.. Nuttin
like 16khz grit over analog filters.
