Hi Jim:
I have data sheets on both devices.  The CA3084 has reasonable matching: 
Vbe matching is 0.422 mV typical, 6 mV Max, although typical Hfe is only
40.  The CA3096 has a similar matching spec., Hfe is a little higher.  If
you need a copy of the data sheets, I could scan them with my fax machine,
convert that to a .gif, and e-mail it to you.  As you noted, the high
frequency response of the CA3096 is lousy, the CA3084 looks about the same.
