There's a lot that can be done if you know exactly what you're doing,
i.e. if you know the circuit of the boxes you're connecting this way.

I have even seen such a solution from a major stompbox manufacturer
to daisy chain the PS of _their own_ stomp boxes. They should know
about the polarity of their boxes, and of possible ground loop, too.
So they can savely do this.

But it's still not a good advice to chain random gear that just has written
"9V DC" on it. You can be lucky (probably), or you can destroy something.
I don't mean "you" of course. But what will you do when one of your
customers destroys something ? I wouldn't take that risk.

Every Manufacturer has his disclaimer "only use with dedicated power
supply". A foolish user could connect an unregulated supply and blow
something. A clever 3rd party PSU manufacturer can take precautions
like stabilized voltage to avoid this. So he can savely sell it "for use
on gear with xx Volt / yy Amp input". But how how can you savely
market a supply that's intended for daisy chained connection ?
"Only use on gear of which you have read and understood the schematic
diagram" ?!

Just think of the legal implications if something burns down.
