Everybody seems to have a different opinion about the Moog
filter - here's mine.

I love it in my Minimoog (Clone). In conjunction with raw VCO
waveform input and a brilliantly designed nonlinear VCA at the
output it produces a wonderful smooth and silky tone, and I
never ever would adress it as "noisy".
As a processing device for complex external signals, I don't
like it at all. Neither the filter of my Mini Clone, nor the new
Moogerfooger one (Sorry). Almost any other filter I have makes
a (IMO) better processing device. Speaking of 4pole filters,
the Moog doesn't come close to a 2040 for that purpose.
2-pole filters like the Wasp or SEM filter are great, too. (But
these *are* noisy)

Just my opinion, of course.

JH.
