Don't doctors use high intensity ultrasonic beams to physically shatter
kidney stones in people's abdomens? (I seem to remember reading this long
ago.) This procedure supposedly breaks up the stones into smaller, less
painful sizes.
It's seems like ultrasonic technology could be used for the same peace
keeping missions that are mentioned above.
On the other hand, if you press the "wrong" button you could wind up with an
angry mob of people with bad haircuts....
