As far as I know, there aren't any "all-in-one" or useful online datasheets
for Japanese transistors (I'm Japanese, so I've searched both in Japan and
outside). You can find some at individual manufacturer's sites, but they
usually only carry info for current models.

FYI, I've looked at a few ads and the 2SA798 is/was made by Mitsubishi and
the going price in Tokyo is about 80 Yen per unit (about USD$0.75) or 6,000
Yen (about USD$55) for a hundred. If you want to buy them in this price
range, you can buy them here (and I don't work for them or anything, just
looked up an ad):
