I am an optical engineer at Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado, USA.  I
have a masters in physics.  In a pervious life I worked at the Oak Ridge
National Laboratory.  I can tell you little about that, and you really don't
want to know.  At Ball, I design, test, trouble shoot and integrate optical
subsystems into larger systems.  Mostly space based instrumentation, earth
imagers, space based telescope stuff, laser tracking and illumination,
etc....  It's fun and challenging.  However, I have always loved
synthesizers since I saw a demonstration of a Moog synthesizer in the public
library at age 10!  (The Moog consisted of a 3 boxes with modules in it and
a separate keyboard.  The thing would fold up so that the outer two boxes
closed over the center one.  If anyone knows what kind of Moog that was, I
appreciate the information!)  I took a break from music and synthesizers for
about 10 years.  But, the love of analog sound synthesis hit me like a ton
of bricks.  So, now I am forced to learn about analog electronics.  Long
term goal and dream: build a polyphonic analog synthesizer with 8 voices
which beats the memorymoog!
