Did that too, but didn't like it. The Roland has only a 4 octave keyboard,
which is not enough for me. Also no aftertouch I think, but I do not consider
that very important. The JP8000 does have a few more knobs though. The other
day I found a patch file for the Yamaha An1x with all the JP8000 sounds. B-)
Can't really compare them as I don't have a JP8000 handy.
I also played a Nord Lead, but was very disappointed with it. The sound
didn't do much to me, and the controls and keyboard were awful.
My favorite was the Access Virus, but it is quite a bit more expensive, and
as it is only a module I'd have to buy another master keyboard.

Yeah, that's good. It just means that you can have just as many different
characters in dsp based synths as you have in analog based ones. It goes
contrary to the myth that all this digital stuff sounds the same.
