Hi all,
As the guy who unkowingly started this "frenzy" for 2040s, I figure maybe
I should explain myself.

I agree. My interests were not solely for DIY (although the chip may find
a use until I have an emergency), as a few of my beasties which I treasure
use these. At that point, the concern that I would not find another supply
at a later date struck me when I found the $30 supply (which I agree is
excessive, although for DIY purposes no more excessive than $60 or so for a
single CEM3340 when I see them!)

I agree. Hopefully the $30 premium will give people some pause.

Thanks for the work put into the discrete design Juergen. When I think I
can handle something with that many trannies, I'll probably build a version
which can have a permanent home in my modular!
