UK MM orders?

Mmm.. the maxx PCB would be a good idea. ASM-1 boards are still available
(i assume) but there's a gap to be filled in the DIY area between kits
such as MOTM or paia, which are reasonably idiot-proof, and 'total DIY',
where you fab or breadboard your own circuits. The intermediate range,
where you buy the PCB but locate your own parts/front panel is a little
empty at the moment. I know I certainly wouldn't be where I am now without
the ASM-1 and all the hell I went though trying to get that working. Just
last week I redid the entire wiring because it was pretty ferociously
noisy.. amazing how much you can learn in a year.

As for sending money overseas, the absolute easiest way is via credit
card, since there's no overhead charges on your end. Other than that, if
you can't do a direct money transfer, your options are getting a global
money order or bank draft. I got one made up for Tony Allgood and it ran
me around 7$. A little steep, but certainly nothing too bad. Any bank will
do it for ya, altho you might get some raised eyebrows if you're only
getting it done for $25.

IMO 4-6 hours is pretty conservative estimate for putting the mouse
together, especially if you're dealing with an intro-level project where
lotsa newbies will be involved.. just a front panel could take you all
night if you're making it look purrty.
