Oops... I'm glad you told me that.
I remember some 10 years ago (at least) I was trying to built an analog synth with various CPU timer circuits (6840 etc.) as a DCO connected to a Commodore 64 which was triggering a EG/VCF/VCA at the same time.
I also tried the C64's built in soundchip wich had an 8-bit tri/sq/sine/noise output, but they were very unreliable.
And it all sounded terrible squary.
Is there any alternative, (besides coocking transistors) or should I practise the fine art of waveshaping? :)
