My day job used to be working for a dept. of defense contractor as an
instrumentation engineer.. I made LOADS of money, but the job was so
stifling, boring, and unpredictable (vacation, OH, you mean that
vacation, well we had something come up and...) I actually thought I was
going to go postal someday, so rather than kill my boss, I quit! :))
The title, instrumentation engineer, implied electronics, but in reality
it was nothing but 90% political BS and 10% electronics for 14+ hrs a
day. I guess I would have got along better if I would have drank lots of
beer, took prozac, didnt inhale, and cheated on my wife! <g>
I think DOD contractors are the ONLY place that ppl with barely a high
school degree and NO experience can get the title of research
engineer(!?!?) and make 80k a yr.
So, everybody, put on your poker face, takes LOTS of prozac (aka
breakfast to DOD contractor employees) and you too can have a money
filled unrewarding carreer with NO chance of promotion EVER! :)) (that
is, unless you get good photographs of the CEO with a hooker!)
