gifs on diy

I think this situation may have a little to do with the fact that pictures
tend to resurface over and over because of newcomers who seek the same info
that earlier memebers posted or requested ... since a lot of the
information is archived at individual sites maybe what we need is some kind
of links index, though I am not averse to receiving small GIF files (<50k)
once in a while ...
Here's a proposition: we can try to get everyone on the synth-DIY and
Analog lists to post their own and others' links to schematics archives and
then we can collate the info into a "pseudo-standard" link pages that can
be mirrored at anyone's page ... the info on this GIF-links page need only
specify basic info of image files stored at the link pointed to ...
With the inconvenience of having the lists flooded with house-keeping posts
for a few weeks we can flush out what's out there, round up the info and
make the accumulated information more readily available to all, especially
newcomers ... list members may include a link to this link page in their
SIG file whenever they post so that newbies can notice it without asking
openly for something they don't know exists ... a similar strategy seems to
have worked well with the Capacitor FAQ sheet, maybe we could even open up
a few different categories like (i) synth-DIY, (ii) vacuum-tube DIY and
(iii) Sound Processing (effects) DIY GIF/JPG links ...
