Beware, there are two EZ-Kit's: one with the ADSP2181, which is about $100.
This is a fixed point DSP. Then there's another one with the floating point
Sharc DSP, but it is more expensive. The floating point capabilities should
make it easier to program, but I have no experience with that.
I have the 2181 kit, and it works, although I think it is a bit noisy. (Bad
pcb layout?) It comes with an assembler and some demo programs, and it is easy
to program (if you have some experience in assembler). I recently found a web
site (http://www.ece.rutgers.edu/~orfanidi/ezkitl/ezkitl.html) with some
additional lab excercises for the EZKIT.
Best regards,
Ben
