How to make enclosures! (was: aluminum plates and profiles)

Hi all,
this is late but perhaps interesting:
Sorry for beeing late about this topic:
For my ASM1 and Fatman I went to an iron trade store and bought a plate of
aluminum (2mm thick 1000x2000mm large, cost 130 DM=80$) and an L-profile
(2mm, 20x20x6000mm, 35 DM=20$).
The parts for the enclosure were cut on a benchpress by a local metal
working company for 15 DM! That took half an hour. You should find such a
company in any larger town. I have 2/3 of the plate left over for other
projects that shuol last for the next three years! I can't imagine to make
enclosures cheaper.
