quick question

Hi all

Can anyone refer me to where I can find info on matching transistors?
I know I need to match impedances to make my circuits more efficient, but
when matching two transistors that work together (like in a current
mirror for example), am I looking for them to have the same gain?
Also, I now can borrow a tester which tells me what the gain of a
transistor is, but what can I do to test transistors the low budget way,
when I don't have access to such test equipment.

For those that are curious, this is what i am planning:

(keep in mind that I am very ignorant about electronics)

I want to make an powerful amplifyer, possibly followed by a step up
transformer. The purpose of the device is to use this high voltage signal
along with coils to drive physical objects as well as old monitor cathode
raytubes. Could be an interesting module, (.. I imagine inducing signal
into a cymbal or sequencing onto acoustic [percussion or string]
instruments...or even playing with the resonant frequencies of real
objects...)

I promise I will not electrocute myself with the +/- 25k volts
running to the anode of some of these CRT's.

any comments welcome private or public

Plinio
