Hello/Vox organ fate

Hello everyone!
I have been lurking on AH for a number of weeks and on
synth-diy for some time less than that, so I thought that
maybe an introduction is in order. I am an electronics
technician (engineer to you Americans) at a cancer
treatment centre up in Canada and have always been into
music. I currently play drums, percussion, a bit of
keyboards, and have spent the last few years teaching
myself to play five string banjo (major analogue content).
I also played trumpet and bugle in my younger years. My
wife plays keyboard and guitar. Electronics, music, and
audio have always been my hobbies, and I've dreamed of
building/owning synths ever since my teenage days, playing
with minimoogs and arps at the local music store.
I am having some difficulty making a decision here, and I'm
wondering how others feel about this ethically speaking. I
have a Vox Continental organ that is in O.K. shape, and
functions fine, which was given to me by a friend who heard
that I was planning on building an analogue synth and
thought that I could use it. I was planning on stripping
out the electronics and using the keyboard and case for the
synth, but, as the organ is in good working condition, it
almost seems a shame to gut it. I already have a Farfisa
Compact Deluxe that belonged to my late brother, which I
will probably never part with, and this keyboard does
everything that the Vox can do and more. They sound very
similar, so I cannot see ever having a need for the Vox.
What do you think, should I just go ahead with it anyway,
and maybe use the old oscillators and a ring modulator to
build electronic chimes or something, or should I try and
sell the unit to someone to play as is or restore, and use
the money to buy a keyboard for my synth? Would anybody
want an old organ like this or is it essentially worthless?
Comments/suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug
BTW, I absolutely love AH and synth-diy, although I may not
be able to stay on AH permanently due to the volume of
messages everyday. I'd hate to miss them, but wow, who has
the time?
