I made a spring reverb in high school for a science project. I took
a really loose spring, almost a "slinky" and glued it to two small
speakers. I drove one with a small amp and used the other one as a
pick-up with a 8-2000 ohm coupling transformer (real common from AM
radios and Radio Shack in late 70's). It worked real well, AND if you
plucked the spring, it made that Star Trek photon torpedo launch
sound. I have been wanting to build a usable unit using spring
assemblies from Parts Express.
