606 mods..screwy...

 While trying out the 606 bass drum mods from the mix magazine article by
Geoff Waterson I am getting less than happy results...anyone know how to
clean these mods up so they are predictable?? Replacing the 56nf caps for
the bass drum with 68nf caps and adding the extra t filter and pot for decay
control just seems to give the option of full oscillation or no effect at
all....I tried using a 100k pot and also a 10k pot...same results...adding
the extra variable resistance for tuning also has no effect...

 I did try to check the archives but the server says that it wont do a
search.....
