new member happiness and question

  I just wanted to express my joy at joining this list! This information
exchange is wonderful!! Especially Re:Digitally controlled filter, RE: SMS
252 memory system, etc...

 I am a synthesist and electronics technician and have been rebuilding,
restoring, modifying and repairing synthesizers/electronic instruments for
about 15 years...I have been pretty much a hardware type but would really
like to get into the software side of things abit...such as machine level
programming etc...anyone know of good sources to educate oneself on this
area of programming?  Or perhaps even an editing program/interface for doing
low level programming?
