Much better to use the oscillator from eg TomG's page.
I originally used a 3080 in a product, but soon switched to a classic
triangle oscillator with a 3080 controlling the frequency.

BTW one thing these chips ARE good for is as the VCO in a phase locked
loop at audio frequencies, this enables you to get a sine or triangle or
square from really shitty waveforms.
BTW, they are very current hungry too.
