VCO from Harris 8038 ic? or Exar xr2206 ?

Hi all,

I just was browsing thourgh the digikey catalog and found the 8038 for
$4.20 a peice.
Will they work with good performance as a vco?

I would love to see a good design using this chip.
This seems like a good price?

I also stumbled on the xr2206. It was not in the catalog but I am
interested in it too for vco construction...
