How much of  a problem is this in reality? I'm thinking of using the matrix board for modulation and not for signal routing. There are gold plated 2,5  mm plugs, but not jacks. Is there any advantage in using gold plated plugs with nickel plated jacks? Will the gold wear off if the plugs are inserted frequently, like in a synth?
