I've had the opposite experience.
I can easily buy stuff online from RS thru their web site, but Farnell were
unduly hostile when I enquired about purchasing from them as an individual.
BTW Which of Farnell or RS carry the best line of components in the UK ?
I got my stash of 1k 3500ppm tempcos from Paul Schreiber - very reasonable
they were too (50 quid for 20), and only took a week to reach the UK.
