audio-midiclock generator

Not really synth related, but I hope someone will be able to help me.


  I've been trying to get soundforge to generate a midi time code signal
whilst recording.  But it seens that the MTC has nothing to do with the
tempo of the incoming audio signal.  Is there any way of doing this?
Could soundforge or ACID do it?  Could I get GENERATOR to analyse the
incoming signal?  Are there any specific programs to do this?  

   I'm now really confused by all this, so I hope someone can help and
point me in a direction.  -Cheers.  Gez.
