repl pots with vc

I got the data sheet from the Philps web page at
http://www-eu.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat/datasheets/TDA1074A_CNV_2.pdf
but they say there that the max. supply voltage range for that IC
is 23 V. That makes it useless for most people who are using
"standard" Cmos Power of +15/-15 V, or even +12/-12V...
Furthermore, i could nowhere find any information on which
resistance this "pot" would have, only CV/db relation curves - maybe
one could use this IC for a simple VCA ?
