Best to clean pots with?

Just wondered what the best stuff on the market was to clean
pots with?  I've been using the stuff in the blue and white
spray can for years (the name slips me - LPS I think) but is
there something better?

Caught my neighbor using WD-40 on the scratchy pots of his
marine radio the other day.  I told him it would last about
a week and he'd be right back where he started from.  He
wouldn't listen, though.  He swears by the stuff.
