sci sixtrack---------HELP

can anyone assist with the following:
a catch 22 situation 
i have been able to trim the DAC, but to reset the synth you have to turn
the synth off then on . upon doing this the DAC goes out of wack and where
back we're we started.
i can restore the basic patch and all voices seem ok but the keyboard is
out of tune in the top two octaves.
any ideas
