As I said on list, the mod is conceptually very simple. What you need to do
is open the synth up and find the trim pots labelled VR2 and VR5, both on
board KLM-1032. These are the cutoff and resonance trim pots, respectively.
>From there, the mod consists of desoldering and removing these trim pots and
replacing them with leads to equivalent front panel dial pots. Naturally,
you need to drill holes on the front of the synth somewhere to place the
dial pots.
There is more conversation and info about this mod on Hyperreal's music
machines site as well as in the Analog Heaven mailing list archives. I
strongly suggest checking these out as well before plowing ahead, just in
case I'm leaving something important out here somehow.
